Bundling Insurance: Working with an Agent

Keeping up with several monthly insurance payments can be a pain. A couple of years back, I found a way to simplify the process. By purchasing my home, life, and auto insurance with one provider, I went from three to one monthly obligation to track. It did take a little while to find the right provider. Even then, I had to compare different plans, and work with an agent to create the bundle. Now that it is in place, there is no doubt that managing the household budget is easier. If you are wondering about insurance bundling, let me share how I did it. Before long, you will also enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing you are covered and what it feels like to deal with only one monthly insurance payment.

Liability Insurance: Is This The Right Option For You?

by Dwayne Terry

If you are looking for the right car insurance plan, you might be trying to decide between liability insurance and a more comprehensive insurance policy. While liability is all that is required and offers good protection, it is minimal. Here are some things to consider when deciding if this is the right option for you.

Liability Insurance is Less Expensive

One of the major benefits to getting a liability insurance policy is that it can help save you money. Liability insurance usually costs less, whether you choose to pay the premium monthly, bi-annually, or annually. You should also have a lower security deposit and lower deductible when getting this policy. However, with the lower initial costs, it also doesn't cover as much if you get into an accident. This means a collision could end up costing you more.

Lawsuit Protection is Often Included

Liability car insurance does have many limitations, but legal coverage isn't one of them. Most liability policies will include some type of legal protection if you are involved in a collision that was not your fault. If it caused damaged to your vehicle, personal property, or your person, you might be able to sue the person responsible for these injuries and damages. The legal costs may be covered by your liability insurance st albert policy.

It is a Good Option for Older Cars

If you have an older car, getting a more comprehensive policy isn't always worth the extra cost. Many of these policies base the coverage on the value of your car. If you have an older car that is already in disrepair, its value is lower, and you won't get much if something happens to that car. In this case, you might be better off saving your money with a liability insurance policy.

You Don't Get Medical Coverage

While a liability insurance policy might help with legal costs if you are injured in a collision, it doesn't include medical coverage. If you are injured in an accident and you can't sue the other person responsible, all medical costs are your own responsibility. If you don't have health insurance coverage, you might want to consider getting a full or comprehensive auto policy. These usually include coverage for medical costs so you aren't paying out-of-pocket for your injuries.

Also consider the fact that extras like roadside assistance, theft and vandalism coverage might not be covered by the liability policy. However, you can add these onto a liability policy for an extra fee.
